Design & Layout
I was approached by the couple to create a statement sculpture for their elegant hillside home, which would dominate their Grand Room and define their main living space.
Initially, we met at my studio in Clarksburg for an introduction and sharing of ideas,. This was followed by on-sight meeting . During our evaluation of the space, the client had the idea to create a mock-up with paper cutouts.
This suggestion by the client, along with her abundant art supply resources, set the course for a creative journey which has endured many years!
Test, Build & Install
Our cooperative design process included a series of back-and-forth discussions of concept, size, theme and budget. A maquette was created to give us a sense of style, colouring and overall impact of the proposed sculpture.
